1st Annual Palmilla Friends Golf Tournament: A Total Success for Our Community’s Benefit.
On Friday, May 3rd, the 1st Annual Friends of Palmilla golf tournament was hosted at the One and Only Palmilla Golf Course, an extraordinary charity event supporting the Scholarship Program of the Los Cabos Rotary Club The Boys & Girls Club of Baja California Sur.
More than 70 players and 25 sponsors came together in a solidarity effort to support these important causes. The result was a resounding success, with an approximate fundraising of $45,000.00 USD destined for the programs of both clubs.
The Boys & Girls Club of BCS provides a safe and enriching space for over 380 youth, offering a variety of free extracurricular activities, from academic to sports classes. This program aims to help children and young people achieve success in their studies, explore vocational opportunities, and develop skills that will be useful throughout their lives.
The Los Cabos Rotary Club Scholarship Program: Provides support to economically disadvantaged students, from elementary school to university. This program supplies school supplies, backpacks, and financial incentives to enable students to continue their education. Currently, 22 students benefit from this initiative, which aims to transform lives through education.
The tournament concluded successfully around 6:30 p.m. Players enjoyed an awards cocktail at the One & Only Hotel, where raffles, a silent auction, and prizes were held. Music, food, and drinks complemented the atmosphere.

- 1st Place: Brady Rice, Michael Wood, Brenda Wood, Scored 12 (60)
- Closest to the Pin: Gabriel Corral at 8 feet from the Flag.
- Longest Drive: Carlos Barba – Innovacion Solar
Renato Mendonca, a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of B.C.S., congratulated all the players present for supporting this cause, saying: «We would like to express our deep gratitude to our allies, players, and sponsors who have generously donated and contributed resources. Your participation has been fundamental to this achievement. Thank you!»
During the awards ceremony, Lucia Hatfield, president of the Rotary Club of Los Cabos, extended her congratulations to the tournament winners and expressed her sincere gratitude to all participants. «We are committed to continue supporting, and we know that this is just the beginning of many more years and events in favor of the community. Thank you for your dedication and passion for being part of this community and for supporting great causes in Los Cabos.» «We are pleased to announce that the Hotel One & Only and the golf course are committed to hosting this event year after year, thus strengthening our commitment to the community and ensuring a continued positive impact in Los Cabos.”
It is essential to highlight that the One & Only Palmilla golf course was generously donated in its entirety for this event, as well as the awards cocktail held at the Hotel One & Only Palmilla, ensuring that all funds raised are directed towards charitable causes.
