The 6th Paella Festival, hosted by the Los Cabos Rotary Club, took place Saturday, May 20th, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. It was held at its new headquarters, the Hilton Los Cabos Hotel and was a huge success! This event, organized by the Los Cabos Rotary Club, the Los Cabos Hotel Association and the Hilton Hotel Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, was a complete sellout.
Fourteen renowned hotels from the area participated in the competition. They put their talents and creativity to the test in the preparation and presentation of delicious paellas. Each of the stations presented a different paella, all highlighting different colors, aromas and flavors.

The jury members were Claudia Velo, Nacho Lavandeira, Edgar Roman, Renato Mendonca, Dawn Solomon, Manuel de Luca, Volker Romaike, Ángel Carbajal and Jesús Corral. First place was awarded to the Hotel Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa, with their entry from Chef Cesar Enrique Gómez Flores and his team.
The festival crowd was entertained by the talented musicians from Granmusik «Guitaras Mágicas» and by DJ Alejandro Rivas. Both provided an incomparable musical experience. The Master of Ceremonies, Claudia Velo, directed the evening in an enjoyable and entertaining fashion.
The yearly Paella Festival has always been held to benefit the Los Cabos Rotary Club Scholarship Program which has supported young people in our community for more than 10 years. Thanks to this program, 21 youngsters are currently benefiting from assistance in maintaining their studies and achieving their educational goals. All this, plus a fabulous gastronomic adventure!
The Los Cabos Rotary Club, with the assistance of approximately 500 people, as well as the participation of sponsors, raffles, and donations, made it possible to raise $450,000 MXN. This demonstrates its commitment to give of itself before thinking of itself. The total amount of money raised will be donated to the Rotary Club Scholarship Program.

The District Governor of the Rotary Club, Lic. Victor Hugo Caballero, and his wife, were present and highlighted the importance of community participation in this type of event that helps important causes.
