The festival will be held next Saturday, May 20th, from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at its new headquarters, the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort Hotel.

Los Cabos. – Los Cabos has positioned itself as one of the best gastronomic destinations. A place where the best culinary experiences come together offering high-quality events that highlight the area. It should also be noted that most of the events related to gastronomy are in support of the less privileged communities of Cabo. The Los Cabos Paella Festival, which is organized by the Los Cabos Rotary Club and The Los Cabos Hotels Association, is one of these charitable events.

In its 6th edition, this Paella Festival seeks to encourage positive competition amongst the 15 participating hotels by showcasing the best chefs in Los Cabos. The purpose of this competition is to create the best paella possible while testing their knowledge and creativity in this traditional Spanish cuisine.

Those present at the press conference are the following representatives from the participating hotels, chefs, sponsors, as well as the organizing committee:

“As a Hotel Association, we did not hesitate for a moment to join as soon as the Rotary Club invited us. I congratulate the club for having this event to benefit the students. This will be a win-win for everyone. It is an example of the healthy competition can be generated between hotels. If I remember correctly, during the first festival 8 hotels participated, and now we have fifteen! We are very eager to know who the winner will be this year”. (Lilzi Orci, executive president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association).

The main objective of this Paella Festival is to raise funds for the local scholarship program of the Los Cabos Rotary Club that benefits 22 underprivileged girls and boys. This program has been sponsored by the sister Rotary Club in Canmore Alberta, Canada, since 2007. This scholarship program has helped young people who have stood out for their academic excellence from elementary school to university. The Rotary Club is very proud to share that fact that this year, in a joint effort, one of its star scholarship recipients was accepted to study in Belgium in the Rotary Exchange Program.

“We, as a city council, are proud to have these types of activities. We know that even though Los Cabos is viewed as merely touristic, this type of event can assist these boys and girls in achieving so much more. City council is happy to help as many people as possible.” (Ireland Fisher, Public Relations Directorate).

“This is a community exercise to promote the education and development of our younger talent. We firmly believe that education is the foundation for building a prosperous and enriched future for our community and for the world in general…”. (Jorge Annibal Amador Castro on behalf of Donna Jeffries, Director of Municipal Tourism).

We invite the entire community to participate in the event that will take place on May 20th.  All proceeds will be to boys, girls, and young students. Tickets will be on sale starting today on the Facebook portal of the Los Cabos Rotary Club and at:
